About Prof. Vidya Vemireddy

Faculty Member, IIMA | Applied Economist

PhD in Applied Economics

Dr. Vidya Vemireddy is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Management
Ahmedabad (IIMA). She specialises in agricultural and food policy research, bridging critical
gaps between theoretical economics and practical policy implementation. Her work focuses
on topics such as agriculture policy, nutrition, food systems, women’s empowerment and
rural development in developing economies.

Mentorship Overview

My mentorship philosophy is rooted in the belief that academic rigor must be paired with practical applicability. I aim to help students and early-career researchers navigate the complex, landscape of applied economics, offering guidance that is both technically sound and career-oriented.

This is entirely a pro-bono initiative to support young scholars.
